Pink!

I know Andrew loves my love for pink. So this change is dedicated to him. =) Don’t worry, entirely new layout (not comprising pink) is due in a month-ish…

What ya doin’ tonight, (hey boy)
Set my alarm, turn on my charm
That’s because I’m a good old fashioned lover boy”

UT

Have a good semester/year, peeps. =)

Was around campus a few times the past week or two and it made me start to miss it a lot. Poo. Maybe it won’t be so bad once everyone I know there has graduated, but I liked walking around campus with the swarms of people everywhere. I think what I miss the most is random campus meets like lunches, late night snacks, and all that stuff. It is nice to never have to worry about homework and tests now though and I have more money, haha…

I’ve got one idea for owiber.com, but I’m not sure if it will conflict too much with OliverWEB… I may not be able to keep both updated concurrently… so we’ll see.

So I’ve been considering running around Town Lake without a shirt so that I don’t get an absurd farmer’s tan… but right now, I currently have a very visible heart on my chest which is making me hesitate a bit… lol.

Edit: Forgot lyrics. =)

“Here’s my story, its sad but true
It’s about a girl that I once knew
She took my love then ran around
With every single guy in town” - Dion

Florida - Day 3 + 4

Yesterday, we went to church and then did a bunch of nothing to recooperate from the Busch Gardens and beach trips the prior two days. Had nice mid-day naps. Yaaaay! Then we watched The New World, which was a horrible waste of time and Flightplan, which was less so.

I don’t even really know if I have any pictures or videos from yesterday worth mentioning… I might scrounge up the flash cards and see later though. Speaking of which, I uploaded pictures from Busch Gardens yesterday.

Anyways, back in Austin now and I am ready to take a long nap. Thanks to Andrew, Jen, and all the other Floridians that hung out with us while we were there, had a great time!

“And Leonard Nemoy
can’t stand up to this.
And Captain James T. Kirk
bows beneath my fists!
And I am awesome!
Awesome!
I am the awesomest!”
- Five Iron Frenzy

Florida - Day 2

Today we went to some beach four hours away and woke up really early to do so. Was quite a bit of fun, but I think all of us (except for Andrew) got burnt. I did, however, put a small amount of sunscreen on myself (or rather, other people put it on me) to make a heart on my chest, a smiley on my right arm and “MOM” on my left arm. The heart didn’t turn out so well, I think, but Van might have a decent picture.

I’m going to be uploading pics to my flickr as I sleep, I’ll title them later… heh… Edit: Ok, never mind, I titled them already. =) And here’s a pic just for our favorite Brit:

For VJ

We finished the night off watching True Lies at Jen’s again… wheeeee!

And, this song is a throat killer:

“If I should stay,
I would only be in your way.
So I’ll go
But I know
I’ll think of you every step of the way.

And I will always love you
Will always love you.”
- Whitney Houston

That song always reminds me of Kevin Costner…

We're Off!

…well, soon anyways. See ya, Texas!

“So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you’ll wait for me
Hold me like you’ll never let me go
cause I’m leavin on a jet plane
Don’t know when I’ll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go”
- John Denver

Danger!

I took Kathy to Town Lake to run with me (well, kinda… I left her behind a few times =) and showed her where I hopped into the water to take the “shortcut.” She points and says “you went through poison ivy?” And yes, apparently, I did. Despite the little warning tags on vines along the trail which clearly state “POISON IVY,” I just went right on through and swam across. Haha… man, I am hardcore! uhhh… just kidding. =)

After running, I came back to my apartment to my sister and her friends having a BBQ and got some steak and chicken from them. Mmmm… thanks. =)

I looked at my PTO today and I will apparently accrue nearly two weeks of vacation between now and January (not including what I’ve already accrued). I’ve got about a week right now, which I’ll be using most of for the trip to Florida… but now I might take an extra day (maybe this Wednesday) if I get my work done tomorrow. Maybe I can use that time to work on the Vox Veniae website which is going to be quite rushed……

“You gotta slow down SLOW DOWN sweet talkin’ woman SLOW DOWN
You got me runnin’ RUN RUN you got me searchin’.
Hold on HOLD ON sweet talkin’ lover HOLD ON
It’s so sad if that’s the way it’s over.”
- Electric Light Orchestra

Liquid No More

Tonight was Liquid’s last service. I don’t remember if I was at Liquid from the very beginning (I either showed up sometime during the first or second semesters it was around), but it was really cool to see Liquid grow and change and to be a part of it for the past few years (particularly the website, haha). I remember making a multitude of video promos with Tim Yip, making Bubbleman Flash animations, working on Worship Without Words stuff, website grunt work, and many other things. Good times. =)

Next Sunday (which I unfortunately will not be here for) will be the first Vox Veniae “preview service” at our new location. Please pray for Vox Veniae and that it may show God’s love to everyone it comes in contact with. =)

“You look hot in all that plaster,
drink some Fanta faster, faster!”

Fate

I went all over town (and by all over town, I basically mean up Mopac with slight deviations) doing random things and went to Target to get a duffle bag for my workout gear that usually is just randomly thrown around in the back seat or trunk of my car. Anyways, while I was there I passed by the back-to-school section when a pink basketball bounced in front of me from who knows where. Well, I figured it was fate so I picked it up and bought it… uhh… for Oriana, of course… yeah…

Okay, time to mess with apartment networking… giga giga!

“Get off my back
It’s a big mistake
Together you and me
Get off my back
It’s a big mistake
Can’t you see?”
- All Star United

My Life for the Blog

So today I ran around Town Lake (the Mopac/Lamar loop) starting on the north end heading east and going south on the Lamar bridge, then turning back west towards Mopac again.

When I got to this part:

I was like, hey, I can take a shortcut and swim across, so I hopped on down to the end of the water and stood there for a while wondering if I should actually jump in. Finally, I think “what the heck, I can blog about it” so in I go shoes and all. I get about half-way when I realize that it’s not so hot of an idea to try to swim a decent distance after running nearly two miles (actually, I knew this, I just underestimated the distance… actually, I thought I’d underestimate the distance, but I’d underestimated my underestimate)… so I spend the next half of the swim inching my way to the other side. It was fun! haha…

Needless to say, after adding like ten pounds to myself soaked in water (especially my shoes), I just walked the rest of the way. So there you have it, I risked my life for the blog and learned that swimming in shoes is not a good idea. =)

I may sink before I swim
but I’m not giving in to you”

Funny

I was looking at my most popular pictures according to Flickr, and this was #12 on the list:

andrewinfountain

Haha, for some reason, when I read “Nobody counts Andrew in the fountain as a favorite” I started laughing. Don’t know why, but I find it funny. =)

Spent a bit today trying to brainstorm ideas for OWeb ‘07, but that wasn’t very successful. My creativity in web design kinda comes and goes randomly and I can’t force these things, so after a while of things not working, I just gave up. I might drop the dirty/high-tech look cause I don’t think I’m very good at creating good looking dirt, haha. We’ll see…

“I’ve got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty
I’ve got whozits and whatzits galore
You want thingamabobs?
I’ve got twenty!
But who cares?
No big deal
I want more…”
- Ariel (The Little Mermaid)
